Central City Historic Properties

"HOUSE WARMING" DAY
Date: Saturday, May 12
Time: 10am – 2pm
(We will provide lunch!)

The Historic Properties Committee needs your help in Central City. On May 12th we will deliver clean linens and check on all of the houses in preparation for the summer residents. (Some of the summer staff will arrive as early as mid-May!)  This is a fun activity and is not physically strenuous. Please email Kathy Tyree kltyree@comcast.net or Jody Phelps jodphe@aol.com if you can join us. If you can come for just 1-2 hours, that works also. Just let us know your time window! High school students looking for community service credit are welcome to join us. We have raking and basement clean-out projects that they could undertake. Our base of operations is The FOUNDRY (the building just to the right of the parking lot, and up the hill from the Teller House). Hope to see you there.

Year-round Historic Properties Committee help needed:
Join this active committee which helps to maintain the 30+ historic buildings that house the cast and crew in Central City. The Association relies on this wonderful committee to provide volunteers to ready the houses prior to the arrival of the artists for the summer festival, and conduct inventory and assess the needs of the houses after the festival artists leave in August.

For more information or to volunteer please contact Kathy Tyree, kltyree@comcast.net or Jody Phelps, jodphe@aol.com.

The 2012 Opera Teaser with a twist was a lovely engaging evening at the Westin Hotel, Downtown Denver on Thursday, February 23rd. The 2012 Summer Festival offerings were introduced by Pat Pearce and delightfully performed by Bonfils Stanton Artists. Many thanks to Karen Ritz and her committee for organizing a wonderful evening!

PARTY for PRESERVATION

New ground was broken at this brand new event for the Guild on April 12, 2012 at the History Colorado Center! The Historic Properties Committee raised over $63,000 from ticket sales, event sponsorships, connoisseurs and an inclusive Wish List of items greatly needed by a handful of properties owned by CCO.

Many thanks to Kathy Tyree and Jody Phelps for their leadership on this wonderful event. And our grateful thanks also goes out to the PARTY for PRESERVATION committee for a job well done.
