CENTRAL CITY OPERA HOUSE ASSOCIATION GUILD PRESENTS ABRA-KID-OPERA: A MAGICAL AFTERNOON

CENTRAL CITY OPERA HOUSE ASSOCIATION GUILD PRESENTS

ABRA-KID-OPERA: A MAGICAL AFTERNOON

Denver , Colo. - On Sunday, April 11, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., the Central City Opera House Association Guild will present Abra-Kid-Opera: A Magical Afternoon at the Pinehurst Country Club. Children will be entertained and educated about the world of performing by the Central City Opera Ensemble; Greg Tobo, master magician; and Emily Crile, education programs director of the Colorado Children’s Chorale.

Kids are in for a treat with a performance of The Great Opera Mix-up by the Central City Opera Ensemble, local artists who audition to serve as education and community performers for the Central City Opera year-round. Full of opera melodies, singers Erin Hackel, Megan Marino, Deven Shaff and Tad Koriath, with the help from children in the audience, will sort out a mix-up and discover that opera is simply storytelling with plot, characters, conflict resolution – and music. Led by Central City Opera’s Education and Community Programs staff, Deborah Morrow and Deven Shaff, children will participate in drama exercises to help enhance character development, improvisation and movement.

With his 30 years’ experience in theater and magic, Greg Tobo is sure to leave the crowd in awe as he takes them on a theatrical journey full of enchantment and wonder. For more information on Mr. Tobo, visit www.astonishingproductions.com.

Kids will have the chance to stretch their vocal chords as Emily Crile of the Colorado Children’s Chorale demonstrates proper vocal techniques.

Abra-Kid-Opera: A Magical Afternoon is appropriate for kids ages five to twelve. The price is $10 per person and an afternoon snack is included. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
