Denver, Co. - Due to popular demand, Central City Opera will continue its partnership with Cena, a new gourmet meal to go establishment in Glendale, through the month of January. Cena will donate to Central City Opera a portion of the proceeds from sessions booked this month to assemble their healthy, high quality meals to go. Gift cards and orders for pick up also apply toward donation.

Cena will assemble for pick up or a session can be scheduled for you or with friends for a private party. Enter the promo code: 122007 during the month of January and Central City Opera will receive a portion of the proceeds. Cena is located at 760 S. Colorado Blvd., Suite I, Glendale, CO 80246. “We’re happy to extend our partnership with the Opera as we ring in 2008,” commented

Cena President/Owner Lisa Ingle. “At Cena, we feel it’s important to support our community and have designed programs to help local non-profit organizations, like Central City Opera, earn much needed money.”

Cena offers flavorful, nutritious food and a time saving alternative to dining out or grocery shopping, with 14 meals to choose from each month. Patrons can book sessions online to assemble meals in the comfort of Cena’s beautiful Glendale facility, where patrons can even enjoy a glass of wine while putting together meals. Cena prides itself on selling the most superior food possible, using fresh vegetables, fruits, and meats including aged beef and hormone-free chicken, while avoiding the use of trans fats in their recipes. Cena promotes and maintains the healthiest offerings in the meal preparation business, completely original recipes, elegant and professional entrée appearance and presentation and inventive sauces, roux and gravies made from scratch. Having just celebrated its 75th year in 2007, Central City Opera is the nation’s fifth-oldest opera company, located just 35 miles west of Denver in one of Colorado’s official National Landmark Historic Districts. The company continues to present artistically excellent professional opera productions in an annual summer festival; offer career-entry training to young singers; produce education and community service programs; and preserve and maintain the Opera House and 30 other Victorian-era properties. While Central City Opera performs each summer in its mountain locale, the company is a neighbor to Cena, with its year-round administrative offices located in the Village of Glendale.

Central City Opera’s 2008 Festival features a new production of Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia, the rarely performed chamber opera about a faithful woman scorned amongst political rebellion in ancient Rome; a new production of Leonard Bernstein’s popular West Side Story, the modern twist on Shakespeare’s classic Romeo and Juliet tale of two lovers divided; and American composer Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah, the story of an innocent heroine accused of immorality and shunned in the eyes of her rural Tennessee community. Two opera subscription packages are on sale now and include tickets to West Side Story and Susannah, with 20% discount pricing for one of the six performances of The Rape of Lucretia. Subscriptions range from $75 to $153 with subscriber-only ticket prices for The Rape of Lucretia ranging from $36 to $74 (including 20% discount). Single tickets go on sale February 1, 2008 and range from $45 to $99. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 303-292-6700 or visit www.centralcityopera.org.
