This production of the 2013 Festival has now completed its run.

Thornton Wilder’s classic American play has been transformed into an opera and tells the story of the ordinary and extraordinary events in the lives of those in Grover’s Corners, a small New Hampshire town in 1901. The story delves into three critical components of the human experience - daily life, love/marriage and death/loss.

Performance Dates:
Matinees at 2:30 pm: July 10, 12, 14, 24, 28
Evenings at 8:00 pm: July 6, 18, 20, 26

Performed in English with English supertitles.
Run time: 2 hours, 45 minutes with two 15-minute intermissions

"Most of all, this opera is eminently suited to this historic building, with its combination of a large, open stage and an extremely intimate audience space." - Kelly Dean Hansen, Boulder Daily Camera

"Without exception, the performer's portrayals were musically and dramatically seamless. Soprano Anna Christy gave a completely affecting portrayal of Emily Webb...Her vocal and dramatic expression of the character's afterlife revelations stands as one of the finest accomplishments I've ever witnessed." - David Sckolnik, The Gazette
