CENTRAL CITY OPERA
EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Central City Opera’s Education and Community Programs enhance existing curriculum for young students and life-long learning for everyone. We work directly with educators, community leaders, students and parents to make these offerings relevant, educational and entertaining. The arts enrich lives and learning at every age. PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS
more
Bring dynamic singing artists into your school for a performance or create an opera with your students through workshops and masterclasses. Attend a family matinee during the summer festival or participate in our Summer Performing Arts Intensive for high school students. There are so many ways to experience opera!
PROGRAMS FOR EDUCATORS
more
Professional development and resources for educators. The arts make great teaching tools - use those tools easier and more frequently with our training.
PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS
more
You thought you had to wait until the summer festival for a good cry or a hearty laugh in the theatre, but Central City Opera makes opera mobile! Enjoy the glory of opera anytime, from a speaker or one singer and a pianist up to a full 90-minute program of scenes from opera and musical theater.   Love Notes, Smooth Operator, or Saints and Sinners: the good, the bad and the opera. Call us and we’ll bring you a program just right for any occasion, whether it's holiday party entertainment, a corporate event, or a community concert. Available year round; call (303) 331-7026 for a quote.

  • Speakers for your club, service organization, or group
  • Love Notes (2-3 singers and a pianist, 45-90 min.)
  • Smooth Operator (3 singers and pianist or small combo, 60-90 min.)
  • Saints and Sinners:  the good, the bad and the opera (4 singers and pianist, 45-90 min)
  • Other flexible programs with 1-3 singers and pianist (we can bring the keyboard, too)

Opera Notes
During our summer season, a staff member will give a FREE PRE-PERFORMANCE PREVIEW in the Williams Stables (just across Eureka Street from the Opera House), at 1:50 or 7:15 p.m. prior to each performance. Arrive early, as seating is limited.

Family Matinees
Designated Festival matinee performances are perfect for those on a budget.  Full-length operas are performed by the talented young artists of the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Artists Training Program.  Introductions before each act and a meet-the-artists session after the opera make this the perfect opportunity to introduce children and opera newbies to the magic of opera.  The Family Matinee of the 2013 Festival Season will be The Barber of Seville on July 18, 2013.  Call the Box Office at 303-292-6700 for tickets!
