5:00 pm Presentation of the Flower Girls by Mr. J. Landis Martin and the Official Opening of the 2012 Festival with the traditional dynamite blast
5:45 pm Yellow Rose Waltz
6:00 pm Formal Seated Dinner in the Teller House
8:00 pm Performance of Oklahoma! by Rodgers and Hammerstein in the Central City Opera House

For many years the Yellow Rose Ball, named for the wild yellow roses planted by the Cornish miners, was a tradition. The Central City Opera House Association adopted the Yellow Rose as the symbol of The Central City Opera Opening Night events.
